Traffic and Tea

Are things that I dislike, and very much love about Ireland so far. Crossing the street is hard(er than usual), but I'm on my 6th cuppa tea as the hotel has a nice little water boiler, as opposed to mini coffee maker, and lots of tea bags. Also, several pouches of instant coffee and unrefrigerated milks with expiration dates ranging from plus or minus a year from today.

I've been trying not to nap all afternoon, we have been free to do whatever after landing around 8:45 am and getting to the hotel around 10:30. I walked around for a few hours trying to find some open shops with a few girls, but no luck. Then, I discovered the outlet adapters I bought earlier aren't friendly with the Irish sockets, so went on another journey to a little mall to find one that was. Which I did, so I can type this. Here's a picture of the Bewleys Hotel, where we'll be until Wednesday. Thanks, g'day!

Goodnight, Room.

Hello,

Here'll be a wee travel blog about my fast approaching semester abroad in Galway!

I leave Syracuse at 10:00 am this morning, and arrive (theoretically) in Dublin on Saturday around 9 am their time, which is about 3 am our time. After a couple days of orientation, I'll get shipped to NUI Galway, my university for the fall. Galway City is on the west side of Ireland, right about in the middle of the island.

It was a happy surprise today when I weighed my luggage, and in total it weighs less than 100 lbs! That's about all the news for now, since I haven't gone anywhere yet. Hopefully there'll be some more interesting stories coming soon...
